URGENT!  Please sign now - Petition ends next month!
Are you concerned about the theft of your pets? We think you should be!

49% of dogs stolen are taken from people’s gardens according to a recent survey by Dr Louise Grove, a criminologist at Loughborough and alarmingly dog theft is on the increase.

This information has alerted a number of MP’s including Neil Parish chairman of APGAW who has intimated that dog theft will be on his group’s agenda in the near future.

For some time now Pet Theft Awareness (supported by amongst others the Kennel Club, Petlog, Doglost, Dog Theft Alert) have been running an e-petition “Tougher Penalties to Deter Pet Theft” and following Adrian Goldberg’s piece on dog theft on BBC’s 5Live has seen a dramatic upsurge on signatures.

Richard Jordan of VioVet, and co-founder of PTA said “We are delighted with this recent interest in our e-petition. We are now so close to getting the 10,000 signatures needed to get a response from the Home Office but we need them by the end of January. I beg anyone that has not voted to do so immediately. It will make a difference and strengthen our hand as we move forward in our campaign"

If achieved this will be the first e-petition on dog theft to reach this figure. To make it happen simply go to the e-petition: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/45882 .

Every vote counts!
If you’d like to see much tougher penalties to deter thieves from stealing pets and horses then please sign now. It takes less than two minutes and whilst it won’t return much missed pets who have already been stolen, it could safeguard future families from going through such misery.
